A gathering beneath the Dome of Light, with every move bringing a new possibility.
Beneath the Dome of Light, the sound of pieces meeting the board continued as scores swung back and forth. The players’ focus and determination held us to the very end. Placement, flipping, forming a line and clearing the board flowed from one move to the next; we found ourselves quietly cheering them on.
Another memorable moment came when Soulaween’s original illustrator, 7mo, appeared as the Little Girl from Deathigner and drew signed illustrations for the winners. The sparkle in her eyes as she drew suggested a wonderfully imaginative world, one we wished we could linger in a little longer.
Thank you to every player, judge and illustrator who joined us, and to the Formosa Board Game Festival organisers for providing the venue and promotion. Together, you brought Soulaween’s first Taiwan-wide tournament series to a beautiful close.
